Braised lamb shanks

Ingredients
- 6 Lamb Shanks
- 1 Onion
- 1 Carrot
- 1 Branch Thyme
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 Garlic Cloves
- 1 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
- 1 Tsp Ginger Powder
- 1 Chicken Broth Cube
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- Salt and Pepper
- 4 Tbsp Orange Juice
- 100 ml Vegetable Juice
- 1 Tbsp Flour
Cooking directions
- Heat your oven at 350 F (180C). Peel and mince the onion and garlic. Dice the carrot.
- Heat the oil ( in an oven safe pot) over medium heat. Brown the Lamb Shanks.
- Lower the heat and add the garlic onion and carrot. Cook for 2 minutes while stirring. Sprinkle the flour and mix for 2 minutes. Salt and pepper.
- Add the orange and vegetable juice. Now add the thyme, bay leave, cinnamon, ginger and chicken cube.
- Pour enough hot water to cover the shanks half way and bring to a boil. Salt and pepper lightly a second time.
- Cover the pot and cook in the oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
