Bolognese Sauce

ingredients

  • 796ml San Marzano tomatoes
  • 400g Minced pork and beef
  • 50g Butter
  • 1 Diced carrot
  • 1 Diced celery stalk
  • 1 Minced onion
  • 1 tsp Chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp Spaghetti sauce seasoning
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • ½ tsp Oregano
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 cup Milk

cooking directions

  • In a saucepan, heat butter. Sauté onion until translucent. Add garlic, carrot and celery, cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add minced meat, spaghetti spices, oregano and pepper. Brown meat until it is no longer pink.
  • Add red wine, once it evaporates add milk and mix for a few minutes.
  • Remove livers and set aside.
  • Add tomatoes and bay leaves. Simmer on medium-low heat for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Season to taste and remove the bay leaves. Serve on pasta and top with parmesan cheese.
